And now she has topped the annual Superdrug Beauty Icons poll with over 27 per cent of the vote - taking the accolade for the second year in a row.
Unfortunately for sister Pippa good looks stopped running in the family this year and she has slipped from second place in last year's poll to fifth in 2012 despite her high-profile book launch and hectic partying.
Second place in the 2012 poll went to X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger, 34, who outshone fellow judge Tulisa Contostavlos throughout the series with her flawless make-up and stunning hair.
Tulisa failed to make the top 20 at all after coming sixth last year.
Third place went to Olympic heptathlon gold medallist Jessica Ennis while This Morning television presenter Holly Willoughby came fourth.
Superdrug 2012 beauty icons
Nicola Wing, Superdrug Senior Cosmetics Buyer, which conducted the poll of 2,000 women, said: 'The choice for biggest beauty icon this year was vast taking in famous names from all areas.
'We spend hours every week looking at celebrity looks in order to tell customers how to get the look using high street products.
'It's no surprise to us that the Duchess of Cambridge has yet again topped the poll.
'The Kate Effect is alive and well driving what women buy in our stores, from her choice of shell pink nail polish, dark eyeliner and of course her ultra-groomed glossy brunette hair.'
Cheryl Cole, who recently reformed with Girls Aloud, takes sixth place in the poll as she continues to wow people with her glossy hair and picture perfect make-up.
Taking seventh place is double Olympian gold medallist Victoria Pendleton - who recently starred in this year's series of Strictly Come Dancing.
Singers Katherine Jenkins and Jessie J take eighth and ninth places respectively, while ex Coronation Street child star Helen Flanagan completes the top ten following her bare faced stint on I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!
The runner up position is taken by The X Factor's newest judge Nicole Scherzinger while Jessica Ennis is third
Other Beauty Icons to appear in the 2012 list include Victoria Beckham, Adele and Beyonce.
Celebrities which failed to make the grade this year include Emma Watson who came eighth last year Lady GaGa who was twelfth, and Keira Knightly who was nineteeth.
Other new entries to the top 20 list of beauty icons include Kylie Minogue, Halle Berry and Caroline Flack.
The research shows 15 per cent of Brits frequently look to celebrities for tips about fashion and beauty, while a third are envious at how beautiful celebrities often look.
One in 10 people admit to taking a photograph of a celeb and trying to copy their look, and a third admit they probably need to take more care of their appearance.
Stunning singer Katherine Jenkins comes eighth as Voice judge and pop star Jessie J comes in at ninth place
The Superdrug spokeswoman continues: 'The Olympics has influenced the entire country, and it's great to see natural beauties such as Jessica Ennis and Victoria Pendleton holding their own against women we usually see wearing full make-up.
'This year's X Factor is still at the forefront of everyone's minds and as usual we couldn't wait to tune in to see the battle of the beauty looks between Nicole and Tulisa.
'Next year we predict that when it comes to make-up, British women will be focusing on their eyes again using jewel colours, graphic eyeliner and choosing extra-long false lashes.
'It would be great to see the Duchess of Cambridge embracing something a little bolder in her make-up choices next year, but with a new addition to the family on the way applying false eyelashes may be quite low on her to do list.
